Cross Clothe Heath(2009)
Inheriting and receiving kimono fabrics that had been carefully preserved or had lain dormant in the back of closets I created countless silk petals and suspended them inside a 70-year-old earthen storehouse. The work evokes bridal attire such as the white wedding kimono and the artist's unique bear motifs peek out throughout the piece. During workshops in the community participants hand-stitched scent pouches and placed them near the entrance. The warmth of handmade crafts gently enveloped the entire storehouse creating a soft and serene atmosphere reminiscent of spring.Materials and Techniques
